The test transformers are installed in an insulating cylinder shell and are oil-cooled, they are well suited for single operation and operation in series connection (cascading), so called modular type, designed for testing all types of electrical insulations up to 2400kV.

HVAC test systems based on cylinder modular type transformer are intended to generate a continuously variable AC test voltage at power frequency, they are the basic testing equipment for all multi-purpose HV test fields and laboratories, also this modular HV transformers are able to be cascaded to double or triple respectively the output voltage for the need of EHV and UHV labs.


The test transformers are of cylinder insulating shell design with steel cover and base, the insulating cylinder is made of reinforced fiberglass, covered with a moisture-rejecting insulating paint. And dielectric materials consist of paper, transformer board and transformer oil.


The possibility of stacking several of these transformer modules allows reaching very high voltage levels by keeping reasonable floor space. Rated voltage of single module can be up to 750kV, we have successfully experienced 2400kV test transformer by four modules cascaded.
