Lightning impulse voltage testing in accordance with IEC 62067, 60840 and 60502-1 for cables.
Lightning impulse voltage testing is one of the main test items in type test of cables, FSHV offers impulse voltage generators for lightning impulse voltage test of cables in accordance with IEC 62067, 60840 and 60502-1, and there are L, G, H type available.
Front wave time 1.2±30%μs (load capacitance < 3000pF), and 1~5μs for big cable load.
Tail wave time 50±20%μs
No load efficiency ≥90%
Test system mainly consists of impulse voltage generator, charging device, damped capacitive divider, automatic control and measure system, etc.
The circuit of impulse generator is the Marx multiplier circuit. Impulse capacitors arranged in the stages of the generator are charged in parallel with DC voltage up to 100kV against earth potential and, in order to generate impulses, connected in series by spark gaps. For adjustment of front time and time to half value of the test impulse, the generator stages comprise front wave resistors and tail wave resistors. A short discharge loop guarantees low internal inductances and smooth voltage shape.
